Long distance advice

So I started dating someone who lives in another state. We talked for a few months as friends and then met in person and really hit it off. He wants to see each other every two weeks which I’m okay with but I’m also like if we’re putting in all this effort I don’t want to be hidden. Is that wrong? Like I don’t want to waste my time or money seeing someone and developing feelings for them to have them not even want to post a story with me. I understand it’s a new thing but I just need that extra security.
