What is the difference between a guy who likes you and is super busy, OR a guy who is not that interested in you?

The guy that I am exclusively dating for 7 months doesn't text me at all during the week. We meet almost once every week, and when we do we have a great time. He is the sweetest and gets really nervous around me still. He has school, and 2 jobs but it started to pick up recently. It's hard as far as dating because I feel like I need to hold myself back from initiating text with him since usually it's healthier for the guy to initiate more in the beginning. If I initiate too much, he might get too comfortable and I want to start this relationship right. 
But what's the difference between being too busy or not being that interested? I doubt myself sometimes because I always wonder if I did something wrong that caused him to not check up on me during the week

If you've been dating for 7 months, I would think you are well past the "beginning". If you want to text him then text him. Ask him if he is just busy or not interested. After 7 months he should be able to give you a straight answer.

Effort and consistency. Are you hanging out and having fun together or just having sex and hooking up when you do spend time together. You could be a weekly booty call. My partner is a lawyer and has kids. He makes the time. If I don’t hear from him because he’s busy it’s never more than a day that he doesn’t reach out. He knows this we got together that I will not chase after him. I tell him the egg doesn’t chase the sperm. He knows if he doesn’t hear from mejor a day or so. Usually by lunch time the next day,  he sends me an egg 🥚 emoji and knows that’s why. He knows that I don’t do the effort or he doesn’t hear from me. Unless o need to tell him something about one of my clients or he’s referring business to another lawyer etc. that or another reason to reach out first.

I like to think that no matter how busy you are, you can always find the time for a message or a quick one minute call during lunch time, before bedtime or even bathroom break time. No one is busy every single minute of the day.

I’m sorry but what makes it healthier for the guy to initiate things in the beginning? That makes no sense. If you want to talk, initiate the convo. If he doesn’t respond much ask him if it’s because he’s so busy (which he very much appears to be) or because he isn’t that interested. Communication and asking for what you want will get you farther than waiting around and wondering.

If you guys are only having sex when you see each other, I'd question it. If you guys are talking and enjoying time spending together,  I wouldn't be as concerned. 
If you're not texting him at all either, he may just think this is how you want the relationship or is your expectation. You shouldn't be texting him first everytime but there is no reason you can't just reach out and say "Hey, how's your day going?" 
Also, after 7 months you should be able to ask him if he feels the relationship is in a good place. 
If you want to see him more, you can ask him to see if he has time between classes that you guys can meet up for a quick lunch.
