Depends. If your whole period is spotting, then I'd call it a period, at least a light one. If you have some spotting one day but the next is a full flow, that day would count as the first day of your period, not the spotting. Some women can have spotting as like a "preparation" for your period to start, but it's not technically part of it until the full flow. Unless, like I said, it's just like a consistent spotting when your period is supposed to be. Then that's probably your period.

The majority says no but I told my doctor how my period is pretty much only spotting and she told me that spotting counts
