Many times, just make sure you have a good idea of when you’re going to wake up the next day. If you put it in right before you go to sleep and know you have to be up for school/work anyways, take it out when you wake up (unless you get more than 8 hrs of sleep?). On weekends, for me personally I don’t like leaving my tampon in because I like to sleep in and know I won’t get up. Just predict how long you’ll be asleep for.
(If you don’t like pads but still want to feel at ease when you have something shoved up there, try a menstrual cup! You can keep it in for 12 hours)
