Rhogram shot?

Does anyone have any information about the rhogram shot? I had a miscarriage a while ago and the nurse told me I needed one I asked her what it is and why I needed it and she basically gave me a short response and pretty much just said it’s cause of my blood type. Which didn’t exactly answer any questions of mine. So any info would be nice? 🤔

Its because your blood type is Rhesus negative. I am also rhesus negative so i need the rhogam shots as well. The shot is very important. If you are rhesus negative and your partner is rhesus positive, there is a chance that your baby is also rhesus positive and means your blood types are incompatible. When you miscarry, your blood can mix with the babies blood and can cause you to get sensitized to rh+ blood. If you become sensitized your body sees anything with a rh+ blood type as a threat and will fight it it off like a flu or virus. So essentially the rhogam shot prevents that sensitization which protects you and your future babies and pregnancies from your body rejecting them.

I had a miscarriage and got the shot before I left. I’m 0- and my boyfriend is O+. Because you got it once never pregnancy, you will get it around 20+ weeks. It’s to make sure you’re safe from the blood of baby/ that your blood doesn’t collide with the baby.
