Such a scary start to the day!

Yesterday morning, my daughter (2.5yo) woke up SCREAMING. I went in her room and she was hysterical. All I could understand was “hurt” and “boo boo” and “help, mommy”. I didn’t see it at first. Then I saw her finger. It was completely entangled in her hair, and the tip was a very deep purple. I was panicked! I quickly freed her finger by cutting her hair. She had been twisting her hair (she sometimes does this to soothe) and she got her finger completely tangled. Hair was wrapped around it and cutting off all blood flow.

I’m aware of “hair tourniquets” and I always check my infant and toddler before bed for stray hairs. So this completely freaked me out and caught me off guard! I don’t think she will do it again, thank goodness!
