Do I have a reason to be upset

Today is my sons 1st birthday and no one has bothered texting me or calling me to tell him happy birthday. They haven’t texted my husband either. They all texted and called for my daughters 1st, 2nd and 3rd birthday!

You’re allowed to feel however you feel. Me personally, I wouldn’t be too upset, but I would probably be just a little hurt. Nothing I couldn’t get over and forgive though.

Sorry but I can't remember my sister's kids birthdays let alone cousins! We love them like our own children but I am just not good with birthdays, esp when they aren't on Facebook to remind me lol

Unfortunately everyone is usually more interested in your first child than the second. 
It’s honestly a good reminder to you to be sure you keep making that kids life just as special and important as the older child, there’s nothing like a mother’s love for sure. 
Personal note: My MIL was very very involved in my first pregnancy and very curious about every doctors appt I took her first grandchild too. My second kid is grandchild number 3 and I was very surprised at how uninvolved she has been. She still cares about this child for sure and will guide him and love him and care for him as he grows, but she’s not excited and enamored with him like she was with my first….and that’s totally understandable. Luckily, my mom is absolutely obsessed with loving on this second grandbaby since she didn’t get to be around her first one much, so it’ll all even out 😆
