Date after break up: Too soon?

I recently got out of a serious relationship, y’all have probably seen many of my posts already.

After time with family and talking to a few rebounds, I have a date set up for Saturday with a really sweet, just my type guy.

I don’t imagine it going anywhere, as he lives over an hour from me, but it’s a nice confidence boost.

My dilemma is this: is it too soon? He dumped me two weeks ago, and yes, I still love him.

Also: should I tell him? Well actually, make it very obvious on my social media, which he looks at, that I am on a date. I’m not going to actually text him I’m on a date haha.

The guy I’m going out with Saturday is super cute, 6’5”, I’m 5’3, a nerd, and is a corrections officer. He also has a bum knee rn as he hit hurt on the job and the gives me some piece of mind, he’s nice but still a stranger haha.

This date is not to make my ex jealous. This was an after thought.

I really like this guy, but we’ve only talked a week. If it works, great, if not, that’s fine too.

And no, I was never, ever, going to straight up text my ex.
