Will I have to pay any taxes if I buy stocks but don’t put the money into my bank account? I’m in California

So I always reinvest on the stock app but I never put the money in my bank, will I get taxed? I also get dividends BUT I have it set up to where it just keeps reinvesting into the stock instead of going into my bank account, will they still tax me?

If you earn money, the company will cut you a 1099 for your taxes. Whether you reinvested or you keep the money, you still earned money. They have to document where earnings left their company. Absolutely you will get a 1099 for your tax return. I had a client who invested $69,000, he made $1500, clearly bad choices in his investments, and of course it affected his taxes.
