3rd trimester SMA carrier
I had to switch doctors for my primary obgyn and my mfm doc at 28 weeks. I saw my MFM doctor today for the first time and was told I’m a SMA carrier.
My prior MFM doctor never told me. I never had any additional genetic counseling. I’m being squeezed in on Monday for myself and partner to have genetic testing done.
If we are both carriers would they do any additional testing now? After she’s born? Anyone have experience with this? My brain is going into hyperdrive.
