Won’t get OB appointment until 8 weeks 😔

I’m in the U.S. and called the doctor today to confirm my pregnancy, and they won’t be able to get me in until October 11th, when I’ll be 8 weeks. I won’t be doing an ultrasound that day either - is this normal? With my first, I had an US at 6 weeks and then had to come back at 7 to confirm growth because I was earlier than expected, but this is a new place than the old practice. She said they schedule between 8-12 weeks for first appointment, but I’m upset about this and I don’t know why 😕 I’m scared to wait over a month and having a month of not knowing I’m
