Would it be dumb to take my baby’s WubbaNub pacifier to the hospital?

I just had gotten her a Llama WubbaNub pacifier that I’ll be using but didn’t know…to take or to not take? Lol.

Nipple confusion is way less common than people believe and safe sleep guidelines actually suggest binkie use as a protective factor against SIDS. I would totally bring your binkie 😊

I would bring a soothie if that’s what you plan to use (my hospital actually didn’t have them this time!) but the wubby is kind of big for a newborn.  My son didn’t start using his until a couple months old.  You could bring it if you want it there for photos though, or at least just pack it so you don’t regret not bringing it ❤️ I overpacked a bit this time but no regrets over it.  Last time I was under packed and lots of regrets 😂
The soothie itself is huge imo lol, my third was obviously a preemie but still gives you an idea

The wubnubs are kind of big for a newborn. We just used whaf we were given. But If I had to take one, I would take a smaller one. Both of kids didnt care for pacifiers and spit them out

Our hospital was pretty stingy with the binkies.
My nurse kept bringing up nipple confusion and saying they would rather not.
I had to beggg her for a binkey just for the ride home. I didn’t bring one since I figured they would just give me one!
So I say yes! Bring one just in case.

If you really want baby to get used to that specific one, then maybe bring it. I know I breastfed and pacifiers were instantly rejected by my kiddos lol. I'm weird about germs and I'd leave as much home as I could and just use hospital stuff at the hospital and home stuff once home. The hospital ones can be hit or miss from year to year. Sometimes they have the good ones and sometimes they're the cheap kind.

I assume you're pregnant and are talking about taking it for after the baby is born? I would say no if you're planning to breastfeed because you don't want to have nipple confusion and yes if you're planning to bottle feed. The nurses might advise you not to use the ones with the animals attached while baby is sleeping because it's viewed as being unsafe.
