White Discharge

I know that to some degree, white discharge is normal — but here’s the thing — I’ve been getting periods since I was about nine, I’m twenty now. I don’t remember much about my periods or my cycle prior to my mid-teens, but as far as I know, my discharge was always pretty clear unless of course I was bleeding. I also don’t think I had as much as I do now. Anyway. When I was fifteen, I accidentally used a scented tampon and got a yeast infection, so of course I had that icky white discharge and whatnot. I went to the gynaecologist and got medication for it, as you do. But oddly enough, the white discharge seemed to be a constant thing after that, and I was really ashamed of it. I got all kinds of recurring yeast infections, struggling 24/7 literally up until this year. Even when I wasn’t sick, I still had the thick white discharge. So, out of desperation, I went to the dr. and got tested for every fucking thing under the sun. Some results were immediate, some would take a while, so they put me on antibiotics for BV just in case. It wasn’t until after I finished the meds that I found out I was negative for BV (and everything else) The dr. did say that the thick white discharge seemed abnormal, so she suggested I go get retested with my gyno. Got retested. All negative. I talked to her about it and said that not only am I concerned about the discharge, but so was my dr. She said it’s probably normal. I would believe her had I always had the thick white discharge, but I haven’t, it only started when I got a YI at fifteen, and continued long after treatment. Does anyone else have it too, even without any sort of infection present? Like I said, I don’t have it when i’m on my period, and I don’t really get it during my fertile window, only towards the end and after. I feel so self conscious about it and it always makes me paranoid about whether or not I have a YI. I wish it would just go away once and for all but there seems to be nothing I can do.
