Why is there a clump of something

So I’m on my period, I normally use tampons but I started the arm implant and it’s been really light . Last night it was like a gush of blood I normally have a heavy period. This morning there was like a jelly looking blob, like a dark red . Is this normal ? AND if so why does this happen ?
