Medicine for 18 month old?

My little guy has a horrible cough right now anything j can give him for the cough that’s safe for him? His cough is really bad 😔

I actually had my pediatrician recently tell me that none of those brands that market themselves as over the counter cough treatments are safe for kids under 4. Not even the “natural” ones. My kids just got over RSV and the cough was horrific. We did spoonfuls of honey, hot and steamy baths/showers, kept them hydrated and propped them up to sleep at night.

These are the brands that i know make medicine for that age: Zarbees, Mommys Bliss, Vicks. We just went through covid with our 2 year old & 4 month old and some of these helped!

Pedyalite to keep hydrated, pedyalite popcicles, like they said humidifier, try jello to soothe the throat. Tea? If you peel an orange, or lime, boil it in water for a minute or 2 remove the peel and let it cool down a bit until is is warm and drinkable. You can sweeten it with a tiny bit of sugar and let little one sip on it.

There's a Tylenol for 0-23 months that's Fever and Sore throat. But otherwise I can't think of any medicinal products that would be age appropriate, you could try a dehumidifier, warm bottle just to help soothe from the coughing.
