Can I ttc around 6-8 months pp?

Question

While breastfeeding and no period yet? If so, how do I start to track ovulation without a period? 🤔 It took my husband and I over a year to conceive our baby now and we were going to do ivf but found out that I was pregnant! Just want to try sooner than later due to how long it took us the first time. Any advice is appreciated!

It is highly advised to wait until 18m pp to ttc after baby. You’re body and uterus needs time to heal. Too soon after birth can easily have complications.

Yes you can. I am on baby #4 and I got pregnant when my kids were about 7 months each time. Since you havnt gotten your period yet, you really won’t be able to track ovulation. Just have sex at this point.

Ask your Obgyn. My doctor has approved me to start trying at 9 months pp. I had a vaginal delivery with a minor episiotomy. He even said “if you get pregnant sooner, just come on in!”… he is fully aware of the needing to heal. I have a weak cervix and he is more worried about it getting weaker with age than potential complications from getting pregnant soon after birth.
So ask your doctor. They will give you the best advice.
