Coming off depo

Hi, has anyone come off depo more than once and had two completely different experiences?

Last year I came off depo after being on it for nearly three years. Period came back within two weeks and cycle was regular again within 3-4 months.

This year I went back on for two shots as was moving countries and didn’t want to accidentally get pregnant. Shot would have been due start of august and I haven’t had a single period nearly 3 months later.

I just assumed it would be the same as last year and now I’m freaking out as want to start ttc early next year!
