Spotting before your period?

I used to have brown spotting for 2-3 days before full flow. This cycle has been different. I had mild cramps on and off for several days, but not today. Pink spotting for previous two days and very light spotting today. I think AF is due to arrive in 1-2 days. HCG test negative this morning, so I’m trying to figure out if the pink spotting and cramps are the new norm for me, or maybe it’s an underlying condition. Self diagnosing is the absolute worst, I know. (Thanks, google)
