Spotting

I’ve been spotting a lot this month I had started my birth control a week late and today I’m cramping and having a lot of brown discharge. Some of the other times I spotted it was pink and red. I took a few tests over a week ago but they were negative. I start my period in about 8 days, I was wondering if the spotting could be due to me starting my birth control late? I have had heavy amounts of regular discharge and my breasts have been killing me today. Is there a possibility I could be pregnant? I know No one can know for sure but I’m tired of wasting money on negative tests. Thanks for all y’all’s help!

Edit: my period stopped on the 2nd and didn’t restart my birth control until the 8th.
