Is this normal?

Baby is 5 days old. Her stump has started to come off. I've noticed she hits it sometimes, so I'm thinking that might be why it is coming off so early. Anyways, the outside is dry but the inside is still a bit wet and weird looking. We are making a doctors appointment just in case but is this normal looking?

My son had the same thing. His cord fell off a little early. We noticed some yellow sticky ooze. Went to his doctor to check it up. It’s called umbilical cord granuloma. Just keep it dry as much as possible. If you notice the skin around it turning red and swollen, that’s when you should contact the doctor.
