Has anyone done a donation drive?

My dog and I are doing a dog food donation drive for a couple of people in our community. I have a miniature husky named Jasper. Some of you have seen his 1st Birthday post. He's half Siberian Husky and half American Eskimo. Anyway he has a huge following on Instagram and there's a couple pages in our community that follows him that really stand out. I wanted to find ways to give back to the community and what came to mind is a donation drive for animals that need food, medicine etc.

One page is an awesome woman who has 18 rescued huskies. She's caring for them all by herself giving them a 2nd chance at life and relies on donations. The other page is a dog training company who were going to be doing our training with has a food pantry for dogs and cats and is getting low on cat items. They're both amazing and I wanted to do a food donation drive for them but I'm a little lost on where to host it. I was going to start checking out locations when things open back up Monday, make some calls, etc.

I have a local celebrity whose helping us with flyers and such. It's just finding a location and I can do the rest no problem. For those who have done drives or know someone that has how did you find your location? Would a pet store be a better option or am I better off finding a small building of some sort? TIA
