What does everyone give their 3 year old for colds?

It seems like all cough medicine is off limits for young kids, but my daughter is really miserable with a cough, sore throat, and congestion. What can you give a 3 year old that's safe? We've just been giving her Motrin so far. She doesn't have a fever.

Vicks botanicals cough and cold. My 3 year old and 1 year old will take it no problem and it seems to help

Zarbees mucus and cough I would give that to both my boys when they were sick and coughing one is almost 2 and the other is 3

I use Hyland’s cold and mucus day time and night time cough syrup stuff. It’s proven to be very effective. I use a chest rub too, and lots of liquids including chicken noodle soup. They get to eat as much of that when they are sick. I also do use a nose frida on my 3 and 5 year old as they are still terrible at blowing their nose. They literally hate it but I feel it helps them reset on the mucus in their system. I prop them up with lots of pillows and sleep in the same room with them, sometimes even on the couch with the tv on as it is usually worse at night. I take them for drives for long naps to help them get the rest they need. Lots of sit down activities and definitely time outside in the sunshine because it helps them A LOT. I try to make it not too crazy active outside but some chalk or bubbles or a walk with them in the stroller helps.

Childrens benadryl, Claritin, or Zyrtec is safe for children that young. I know these are allergy meds but they could help dry the mucus. Benadryl may help her get some sleep at night while sick. We also make sure to use a humidifier and chest rub. Vicks makes a vapor bath wash for babies that is great when they are congested. The fridababy nasal aspirator with some saline helps clear mucus too. It’s gross, but really helps if your child can’t blow their nose well yet.
