When did you let your kid/baby spend the night away from you for the first time?

My kids have only ever slept over at my parents house lol.. and their first sleepover is always when we've welcomed a new baby and are in the hospital which put my son at 3 years + 7 months and my daughter will be right about 3 years + 2 months at her first sleepover.. after that if they do well they go on sleepovers at my parents house every few months it seems. And only ever for a night, maybe 2 if they are lucky!

My daughter is 8 and I let her stay the night at her best friends house. Her friends mom has been all three of my kids kindergarten teacher (my son is in 5th grade) so I’m very close with her! On the other hand my 6 year olds friend just invited her over for a slumber party for her birthday and I didn’t allow her to go because I don’t know her parents. As for my mom - she didn’t take them overnight until they were 3/4 and that’s rare. I’d rather keep my kids still to this day. They always come back acting some sort of way lol.

My oldest was around 8-9 months for her first sleepover with my parents. Shes 2 now and has done probably a dozen sleepovers with them. My youngest is 5 months and wont have a sleepover for quite awhile. Theyve never even been babysat by non family. I have a close friend that is babysitting my youngest in December for a few hours though
