Is ibuprofen really that bad?

Question

I’m 14w pregnant and I suffer with severe headaches and migraines my whole life, the ONLY medication that works for me is ibuprofen… and now i can’t take them. 
Well I have been taking them still and I know I shouldn’t but its torture. I can’t function taking care of a toddler and a house while Im in so much pain.
I just wanna know if anybody here also took ibuprofen while pregnant, and if is REALLY that bad to take it.

Some research warns that NSAIDs like ibuprofen and/or opioids during pregnancy can increase the risk of other issues like:
cleft palate.
cleft lip.
spina bifida.
gastroschisis.
hypospadias.
pulmonary valve stenosis.
Please explain to your Dr about your pain, there are other medications that are safer in pregnancy for pain than ibuprofen. In fact I suffered from terrible migraines and was prescribed Claritin D because it turns out all of my blood vessels swelling made my headaches so much worse. The Claritin D eliminated them!! I wouldn’t take any more ibuprofen, and please let your Dr know that you still have been. Honesty is the best policy.

I need to add that I DO have experience with this, my oldest son has Hypospadias. He’s 20. I didn’t know I was pregnant, I was young and dumb, and had been taking ibuprofen for a toothache. The Drs have never said it was the ibuprofen specifically, but it’s likely the cause.

Probably isn’t good since that’s one thing they tell you first to stay away from. I guess if it didn’t matter they wouldn’t tell you not to take it pregnant

My midwives told me that It's not bad until the third trimester, they just say to not use it the whole time because it's easier to generalize for people

You should talk with your doctor. There are pregnancy safe options

They tell you not to take it while pregnant for a reason. It’s unsafe. I sympathize with you though. Tylenol doesn’t work for me at all so everytime I had and ache or pain I was having to get a script from my doctor. I got prescription strength migraine meds from my doc that were safe for pregnancy. Definitely call your doctor for other options.

Lifetime Migraine sufferer here 🙋🏽‍♀️ I take sumatriptans, specifically imogran, totally safe to take while pregnant. It is a prescription medication though so you will need to speak to your doctor.
