How do i know if my newborn has colic or sensitive to certain formula ?

My nb is 2 weeks and 3 days old and these past 3 days she’s been real fuzzy after drinking milk she’ll spit the Milk half way thru and start crying excessively I try to burp her usually she’ll burp then she’ll stop but most of the time she won’t burp until a while later and starts screaming Is frustrating. (She’s on total comfort formula)

Colic is a symptom, not a diagnosis! I had sooooo many doctors and pediatricians say my baby was healthy and it was just a developmental phase some babies go through. They refused to do any testing when I asked. Finally, he had visible blood in his stool and was diagnosed with a dairy intolerance. Luckily I’d suspected it weeks before and had already put him on Nutramigen. Soon after his first diagnosis, I suspected reflux. Made him an appointment, was very specific about the symptoms, had a video for proof (cause otherwise, it probably would have been dismissed), and they diagnosed him with reflux! Then my lactation consultant suspected thrush, so I took him in, and again he was diagnosed - with thrush. Being treated for all three, he is a completely different baby. I knew something was wrong. He just screamed in pain almost 24/7 unless he was sleeping.

My son had issues the first month with tummy issues! Every evening around 7 -9 pm crying. We were breastfeeding and formula. Stopped the formula tried a probiotic that takes 2 weeks to work and it didn’t work for us but the gripe water did! Now that he is 3 months no issues. Im lucky. Keep trying different things and speak to your doc about concerns! Gl ❤️

Colic is lots of crying endless crying lots of spitting up etc. not agreeing with formula can cause discomfort constipation and definitely make baby full and not want to eat. Also there is reflux or silent reflux if baby seems to be eating but getting aggravated while eating spitting up or not spitting up and being very fussy for the hour after a feed. My son was somewhat like this but breastfeeding so a little harder to tell it went on for a couple weeks then he started to get eczema and blood in his stools turned out he had a milk protien allergy and i had to cut 100% dairy from my diet, when I started supplementing i had to use puramino which is no dairy. Regardless after getting milk put of his diet he was a completely different baby. All have similarities but usually there is something distinctive about each one so id suggest keeping a feeding log and write how much she eats when she stops how she acting etc. then keep an eye out for other things like spitting up or “choking” reflux, eczema (which is usually related to food allergy this young) if shes been on this formula since birth and having issues it could be the formula and so maybe try a different one and give it a week the one that worked for my first son was enfamil gentlease neuropro
