help my period was three weeks long

Bekah

I’m on birth control, and have been for over a year and my Doctor just switched me to a more consistent, higher dosage. She is having me skip the placebo pills, therefore “skipping” my period. However, after the first month, I started my period and it lasted for almost three weeks (it was so light I hardly ever even needed to wear a tampon, but still annoying) and it ended about a week and a half ago and now I’m starting my period again. Do I need to switch my birth control again? Will this be my new norm?? Three weeks on, one week off? Or is this just for the first couple cycles?

TIA
