talking to my ex 😭

so about 7 years ago i dated a guy on and off for almost 2 years and he was the first person i fell in love with. i was CRAZY about him, and i was so sure i was going to marry him (i was also in highschool so we were both very immature). he has always been a bad influence (drugs, highschool dropout, etc) but he’s the sweetest person ive ever met. when we broke up we didnt see eachother again because we were long distance at the end of our relationship, so after i got over the breakup i kinda just forgot about him..

that brings us to THIS MORNING

i wake up and check my phone at 7:30 and i see that he has requested to follow me on facebook after 7 YEARS of not talking or frankly even thinking about him. well stupidly i accepted the request and now we have been talking all day. i know he’s bad for me and all day ive been having flashbacks of all the times i would be sobbing in my room over him. but something about him makes it almost impossible not to talk to him 😭 anyone ever have a similar experience?
