Am I the wacko?
I saw a picture in a group of a toddler touching the oven door. The post was about the kiddo being excited about food being in the oven and waiting for it. Everyone was doting over him.
And I'm over here like..."does no one care this kid is touching the oven?"
And then all the moms are like, "Oh my gosh, it's obviously not hurting him, he's so happy!" And like, "Newer ovens like this don't actually get hot on the outside, duh!"
...okay, well, we also have a newer, nice oven. BUT isn't it just good safety practice to teach your kids not to touch ovens? Like, am I crazy? One day they might be near an oven that DOES get hot, and they will get burned. Example: my friend has a huge range that looks like it's maybe from the 60s. That sucker definitely gets hot. Luckily, my kids know not to touch ovens. 🤷🏼♀️ But they made me feel crazy!
