Mommas with older NICU grads...
My daughter was a full term NICU baby and her feedings fell on the 2, 5, 8, and 11 schedule. She was literally in there for only the first three days of her life BUT she’s now a year old and is still on that schedule. When she was discharged, she was given back to the maternity side of the hospital because I was still hospitalized and they pulled strings to keep us together. A week later, we both came home and we just stuck to the schedule because it was routine for us. Over the past year there have been nights where she dropped the 2 am feeding and others when she added a feeding because of a leap. By feeding, I give her a boob and she’s cuddles in and is back to sleep within 5 minutes so I really don’t mind it. She’s in her crib in her own room but at 5 am, I take her to bed so she can have a long nursing session before we get up and go to work/daycare...and I love the sniffles as much as she does. With my son, it was a totally different health experience and sleep for him was a hot mess. Do any of your babies who followed this schedule eventually fall out of it or did you have to do something about it?
