Extreme fear to public restroom
Hello, so my daughter who has a speech delay problem also has an extreme fear for public restrooms. Being through a pandemic for a year only made this worse since she didn’t go out for a whole year. She also lacks social skills. My question is has anybody experience this before? Should I get her referred to a psychologist to address the problem from the root? She is in kinder. She will not use the restroom at school! She will go in to wash her hands now which she don’t do at the start of August. She has to wear pull-ups. She does pee in the pull ups about two times. However, the other she was crying at school saying her stomach was hurting. I sent my husband to pick her up and as soon as she arrived she ran to the restroom to poop… husband said she was in there for quiet a bit so her tummy was hurting because of this. After that she was normal again. So this is interfering with school and her learning. I don’t know what to do anymore and I am so frustrated and mad at myself because I feel like a failure… any inputs on what to do???? I’m lost. Also having a speech delay problem doesn’t help because she can’t communicate with us or teachers clearly! She will say the basics but can not establish a conversation. Ty in advance for reading and your input!
