My boyfriends son is 10 and he has a lot of struggles. He's autistic, scared if the dark, bedwetter, doesn't have any friends... And now he's refusing to sleep at night. We are trying to get him a therapist but it's a waiting list. He is doing everything he can to stay awake because he's scared of his nightmares and doesn't want to have an accident because he thinks we are disappointed in him. We keep telling him that's not true at all. He's starting to fall asleep in school and his grades are suffering. He tries to make friends but has been getting bullied. He's such a lonely kid. Me and my hubby bought him a night light in hopes that helps but he's still avoiding sleep. I caught him up at 3 in the morning making himself coffee. He's a sweetie. Just sad, scared, and lonely. We are so worried about him and would do anything just to get him to get a good night's sleep.
