What happens if you ovulate before IUI?

Question

I have an IUI scheduled for Monday (CD 17). I am supposed to trigger tomorrow (CD15). According to my strip, it looks like I might ovulate before then. Has this happened to anyone? If so, did you get pregnant or cancel your IUI?

It happened to me this cycle. I had a dominant follicle and I swear I felt ovulation on Friday evening/Saturday morning, but my iui was not until Monday morning (the dominant follicle discovered during my scans threw our whole schedule off). We went ahead and did it anyways and my dr said the cramps, etc could have just been the follicle trying to ovulate. Not sure exactly what happened, but I got pregnant! 
Also, If your cycle is medicated at all (clomid, stim shots, etc), they can throw off the lh tests, so I was told to not use them during a med cycle.

I had IUI WITHOUT trigger shot and my doctor told me to use OPK and to schedule appointment the next day after LH surge with OPK.

Oh this is the WORST!!!!  I never did IUI but I ovulated before 2 IVF retrievals so I can accurately understand your anxiety!  I’m so sorry. Can you text your doctor or anything??
