Do your kids ever not STOP TALKING?!

Question

My 6 year old never stops talking. All day, she is babbling at me. Demanding things or answers from me. Asking me questions. Repeating things back at me. She's driving me nuts.
I tried taking a nap while baby was asleep, 6 year old woke me up at least 20 times to ask me "where's my tablet?" "WhAt are you doing?" "MOM MOM MOM MOM".
I'm going to lose my damn mind. Does this drive anyone else nuts? I almost screamed at her but held it in, but it's getting to the point sometimes I just send her to her room to play and be quiet and give me a break. It's non stop talk from 6:30 AM when she wakes up to when she goes to bed.

I have three sons- 4, 3, and 17 months. My 4 y/o talks a lot and asks a lot of questions. 99% of the time, I am appreciative of it. Before I had kids, other kids who talked a lot/asked a lot of questions drove me nuts. But my 4 y/o was a little bit of a late talker and I have a 3 y/o with autism who is nonverbal so I am very appreciative of being able to converse with one of my children.
That being said, I do occasionally find myself  feeling a little irritated with questions that my 4 y/o repeats multiple times a day. Like asking multiple times throughout the day what I'm cooking for dinner. Or when he asks me what I am doing and comes back 5 minutes later and asks again despite being able to see that my current task is exactly the same as it was before. Other than that, the only time his talking can get a little irritating is when he starts speaking before he's formulated in his head exactly what he wants to say and it just ends up with him stuttering and rushing through the beginning of 5 different questions and finishing none of them. "What you- what's your- what's Dada- How baby do- what's baby-" etc. Just definitely a case of his mouth running before his brain signals have told him what he is trying to say!
My 17 m/o isn't forming actual words yet but his "talking" can certainly annoy me the most. Only because 85% of his vocalizations are definitely sassy yelling and grunting while he stiff-arms and throws his hand up after being told "no" or to stop something. It's kinda funny but also it's like... "Why you got 17 YEARS of attitude in a 17 MONTH old body, huh?" 😂

Does she interact with other children her age? Do play dates where she can talk to other kids and actually play. My little cousin (8) and niece (6) use to irritate me at that age for the same reason...I just took them to the park or invited friends over who had children around their ages....problem solved lol

My son has a severe speech delay. The last year he's really made tons of progress & is mostly understandable to people who are around him regularly. Now that's he's found his voice....... he can't stop. Don't get me wrong, I am SO happy he's talking & making progress. But omg.... some days I feel like I'm losing my mind. It's worse bc everyone keeps wanting to say "you used to be so worried about him not talking" or something similar. I get it, but I just wanted to be able to understand what he wanted/needed without screaming meltdowns lol. So yes, I totally get how you feel!

I almost wish I had that problem! My 3 year old is non verbal, I have a 15 month old and hell probably be the one to start talking non stop first 🤣

Yes. My 5 year old talks non stop. Even if no one is listening he narrates everything. Sometimes we have to work on being quiet. I tell him soon when he starts school he will have to practice turning his voice off.

I don't have my own kids (yet🤞). But I have this problem. I talk so much. Especially when I'm nervous. I can't make it stop. I have gotten better over the last year (really worked hard on my mental health). Honestly I don't know how to teach a child to talk less. Wish my mom had taught me. I remember being made fun of alot for talking too much growing up.

Not my kid but my boss’s son is like this. When his mom brings him into the office he comes in my office and talks my ear off. “What are you doing? Why are you doing that? I like your hat. My favorite color is blue. Do you like blue? I like orange too….” And on and on. He’s only 3 and super cute but I can’t imagine dealing with that all day every day. I can understand your frustration.
