IBS????

Question

Anyone has or been dealing with IBS??? I think I might have it because I have very similar symptoms. Any certain things to look out for??

It's a lot easier to get diagnosed now than a few years ago. You can get a simple blood test done either ordered by your doctor or you can pay out of pocket for it at most diagnostic centers, at least in the States. IBS presents differently in people and can change in presentation within a few months as well. I have it and had symptoms since I was a young child. Nauseated, vomiting, diarrhea, cramping, bloating, malnutrition and dehydration. Couldn't keep much down and sometimes had to go days without food and even water. My parents hated doctors so I rarely got seen and one doctor decided I had an eating disorder and I stopped going to see Dr after that, not by choice but parents thought it was the best route. It wasn't until I was in my 20s that I finally went to a good Dr, was diagnosed, saw and continue to see a nutritionist and dietitian and take the generic of Bentyl for it. Life. Changers. For. Reals. Now I can eat without fear of getting sick, I can drink water throughout the day and have healthy 💩. All it took was a little background info and a simple blood test to get the ball rolling. I will say, depending on the severity, going at it with diet changes isn't always enough. Sometimes people really need medications for life and that's totally okay. I know I'll be on mine for life even after I've done and still keep doing all of the changes that are recommended. But I'm just so grateful to finally be able to enjoy food and not fear it
