5 year old still wetting the bed at night

Hi everyone i need help! I’m so frustrated . Most children by age 5 stay dry over night . My son turned 5 September 28 and still wet the bed over night . Many people told me to set an alarm and wake him up every two hours and a half to use the bathroom. I tried this and we both were very cranky all week because of being tired and disrupting our sleep . I could see it was affecting him and school . I don’t know what else to do but i decided to stop waking him up every two two and a half hours beginning today . I will just get the overnight pull ups back and wake him up once . I’m a single parent and it’s very hard trying to get this right . So the question , how old was your child when they stopped wetting the bed over night ? And any advice that can be offered to help me?
