His Mom is Kind of Awkward

So I just recently moved into my boyfriends family’s home because he offered me to in order to save money on tuition next semester (Don’t worry, I am helping him with rent and groceries which is far less expensive than 14k in room and board at my college). I’ve basically been staying here the past 3 months a few times a week after classes and I’ve noticed his mom doesn’t really acknowledge me or talk to me. She’s said hi to me once, but that was about it. A thing to note is that she’s not rude at all, has never said anything rude about me at all, and I respect her, but I think it’s because she only knows how to speak Spanish. Her English is very broken and I can tell she’s just more comfortable speaking her native language. My boyfriend told me he talked to her about me living here and she said she doesn’t mind as long as he still pays his part of the rent. I just don’t know how to feel less awkward about being outside of his room when I’m not doing classwork/playing games/hanging out with him. What should I do about this?
