Financial anxiety
This is my first pregnancy, and everything is going well. I am happy and I am excited. But I have this little anxiety about how I am going to be able to afford to go on maternity leave. My company doesn’t offer a real policy basically just a short term disability with 60% pay, my husband and I work good jobs but we are a 2 income household. 60% of my pay after tax and taking out the health insurance is not going to be helpful to my husband or I my growing family. We have a savings but it won’t be enough. I honestly don’t think we will be able to afford me being out for so long, not even the 6 weeks that short term disability offers. Is anyone else feeling this way or experiencing this anxiety? Does anyone have a suggestion on a side hustle that is not a multi level marketing company that I can do along with my full time job and continue while on maternity leave?
