Saw your more recent post, so I just wanted to come back here and say… I am the only person I know who has the opinion I described above. It’s my opinion, sure, but I’m just one person. 
Also I’m a huge name nerd who has been reading all sorts of name forum posts here and elsewhere daily for years, and whenever Freya occasionally comes up, people love it. I’ve never really heard people say any bad things about it, in all my name forum browsing for the past five years.
So I hope you don’t worry. It’s a beautiful name.

I love Lyra!
I like Freya too, but only as a middle name. Naming a child a literal god’s name as their first name feels really weird to me. In the middle slot it feels more like making a private connection to that god, as opposed to in the first slot almost like claiming that god as who they are.
