7 month old 103 fever

My baby is 7 months today. I got a call from her day care that she threw up and had a fever of 101.8 (38.8c) I picked her up and when I checked her temp at home it was up to 103.4 (39.7c)

I gave her ibuprofen and 2 hours later her temp was 101.5 (38.5c).

I called her Dr and he told me that she’s fine, and to continue to monitor her, and if she still has a fever tomorrow to bring her in.

This seems odd to me! 103.4 is a very high fever, and to have a fever of 101.5 even after medicine ...

I feel so sad for her, she is so agitated and fussy :(
