Aggressive breastfeeding newborn?
FTM so not sure what is “normal”… my 3-week old can get so aggressive while breastfeeding. Sometimes it’s because of the letdown or she’s gassy but often it just seems random; it can happen at any point during a feed. She’ll rip off my nipple (sometimes with it still in her mouth like it’s a rubber band!) and scream then thrust herself back on the boob. Sometimes she’ll do this and then fall asleep the second the nipple is back in her mouth! I just feel bad as breastfeeding doesn’t seem like a calm experience for her. Sometimes she’ll be calm but usually during the night, she gets agro on the boob. If she gets too frustrated or worked up, I’ll stop and return to a neutral upright position until she’s calmed down. Is this behavior normal for a newborn?
