Help, I think I’ve reversed our sleep training
My 7month old has been sleeping through the night (7-5) in her crib for about a month, but over the past few weeks she started waking up around midnight and fussing. I assumed I could pick her up, feed her, and put her back without setbacks and she would indeed fall back asleep and stay asleep until anywhere from 5-7. In the morning, I would pick her up, change her, and bring her to our bed so she could nurse and I could get a few more hours of sleep.
But I think I made a huge mistake. Two nights ago I was so tired that I just kept her in our bed after feeding her at 1AM. She was thrilled. Then last night, she woke up at 10PM and I again was too wiped out to transfer her back to the crib right away. Big mistake. When I tried again at 4AM, she fussed and cried but then let me transfer her calmly to her crib, only to get angry a little while later and banshee scream until I picked her up and put her down in the bed next to me. Nothing else worked, it the moment she was back and had a boob in her mouth, she settled.
I’m afraid that I have just reversed all the gains we made through sleep training and I’m not sure what to do to get back to where we were. Should I never let her sleep in our bed again, even those 2 morning hours? Never feed her at night? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
