What happens at postpartum visit appointment ?

So how exactly does the doctor check your stitches? Does the doctor touch anywhere inside your vagina to make sure everything is fine or does he use a tool? Can anyone please tell me their experience? Thank you.

Same as every other exam hun. Fingers and a speculum to see if required. I had already had sex by 6 weeks so I wasn’t worried 😅😂 I’m not a star patient tho 😵‍💫🌟

With my daughter in 2018 I had a physical exam. 2nd degree tear internally and externally,  she was born face up. The exam included the speculum to check internally and some poking around externally on the stitch site to make sure my internal stitches had dissolved. Nothing was painful though. 
With my son back in Oct of this year we just did a telehealth video chat at 3 wks post partum. Again 2nd degree tear internally and externally. He came so fast he re-ripped everything my daughter had ripped previously. I was advised to wait 6 to 8 wks for my internal stitches to heal. I ended up calling 5 days before 8 wk and my OB cleared me. Said my laceration should be healed and my stitches should be dissolved. I just got sick of the no bending, no squatting, no lifting heavier than Bubbies rules. I wanted to be able to get down and hug my daughter and pick her up again and be able to get down and do tummy time and all the things again.

They don't use tools inside. They use fingers.
But did you have a csection or a vaginal birth? 
Stiches inside mean csection? In my case they did a trabsvaginal ultrasound to see fi everything is back in its place.
