Postpartum Misinformation (rant)!
Does anyone else hate how little and how inconsistent the information about postpartum healing is?
It’ll say you’ll have bright red blood and clots for 3-4 days but then say “if it goes on for longer than 2-3 weeks be worried” 4 days does not equal 3 f*cking weeks.
Practitioners will say “look out for clots bigger than a golf ball.” But then another doctor or nurse will say “bigger than a quarter” and even Google will say “bigger than a quarter OR small plum” I don’t know what plums they’re eating but plums aren’t as small as a quarter.
And when u search postpartum edema the first thing it’ll tell u is that it’s a sign of Postpartum hemorrhaging even tho there’s only a 1% chance of that happening to someone.
Like all I wanna know is how often I should be changing my pad/what position I could sit in to poop comfortably I don’t need every blog telling me I’m gonna die.
