Is it normal for baby to not feed for awhile?

My son is 3 days old and feeds all through the night and sometimes he sleeps for HOURS during the day. Right now it’s been 4 hours since he last fed. Should I wake him up?

I’ve always woken my kids up after 3hrs max. Once they reach birth weight, I stop waking them at night

After they’ve regained their birth weight you don’t need to wake them but prior to that yes you should wake them to feed at least every 2-3 hours.

At 3 days old my pediatrician said baby should eat every 2-4 hours or so and to wake him if he didn't wake on his own...at that age I woke my son every three hours.

That young he NEED to eat every 2-3hrs. Yes you need to wake him up. Blood sugars can drop easily making baby more sleepy and harder to wake.
