MIL freaking us both out

My mother in law had silent labor with both of her kids. For my husband she went to her normal prenatal check just feeling great, And the doctor did a cervical check and found she was 4cm dilated. She had no idea she was in labor, and my husband was born only THREE hours later! Apparently her water had also broken but had been such a slow drip she had no idea, and her fluid was basically gone.

She told us that story and now my husband is all like “make sure to ask for a cervical check” at my appointment on Friday, “are you sure you’re not leaking fluid?” “Just because you’re not feeling pain doesn’t mean you’re not in labor…” etc etc.

she freaked him out (accidentally) which is now freaking me out! Im starting to question if I can trust my body to let me know when it’s go time. I didn’t even want to get a cervical check if I didn’t need it and now… 🥲 I’m not sure how to get back into the calm and trusting headspace I was in before.

Also side note she totally wasn’t trying to freak us out. She was just sharing her birth story & she’s a super loving and nice in law so no hate to her!
