Gyno anxiety
I’m a 28 year old who has never seen a gyno other than an HPV vaccine when I was 14. I have experienced several instances of sexual assault as a child and this give me huge anxiety over a visit. I’ve been married a year now and know that getting established with a doctor would be very helpful for in the further when we want children, but right now, babies aren’t on our list. My family doctor has all but straight up refused to refill my birth control prescription, stating I need to go see a gyno for it now.
I know it’s necessary to go, but I’m having major anxiety over the thought of it that I can’t make any decisions on who I might want to see. I’m afraid of having flash backs and having a full blown panic attack in the room.
