He's being an ass, right?

So tonight we were taking our dogs outside to use the toilet as they sleep inside. I want to preface this by saying I have an extreme phobia of bugs which I don't think he really understands and he often mocks me about the "killer moths" and "homing beetles" and "flying tarantulas" and all that. All in good spirits, most of the time.

Anyway, so we were outside and it's a bit dark because only the one spotlight was on when out of nowhere, this moth flies in my face. I got a fright and let out a little shriek, and then I felt the moth stuck in my hair and then I panicked. Quietly though, I didn't go running around and screaming.

He tells me very firmly to keep quiet and why am I making so much noise and I told him well if a moth flies in your face with no warning, he'd also get a fright. Then he goes on to tell me I'm disturbing the dog and I complain about the noise the neighbours make when I'm busy making such a noise myself.

Like I said, I let out ONE shriek and I'm not a damn statue that I won't react when an object of my phobia has literally flown in my face.

Last night he moaned at me for a similar thing-the weather was bad and I was trying to coax my one dog into using the toilet by making lots of baby talks and trying to get him excited and playful enough for him to forget the weather is scary and my husband shouted at me to come inside because I sounded like a lunatic.

It's not like I was making this noise at midnight and both tonight and last night the neighbours still had their lights on and doors open so it's not even like they were in bed. I make the fraction of noise they do for my husband to shove that in my face (in fact he rolls down the driveway everyday blaring his music so who is making noise now, you know).

I know this is petty but two days in a row now he's moaned at me about the amount of "noise" I make.
