How would you react?

My 16 month old just tested positive for Covid today. My husband called his father, because he came over yesterday and was around our son. His fathers first and only reaction was “Great, so now I’ve been exposed”. Not “How is my grandson, can I do anything to help y’all”. Solely worried about himself. He is a very selfish man and always has been but this crosses a line. You’re allowed to be worried about your own health, but to completely ignore my sons? I am pissed. And not to mention, his dad is now mad at us! We had no idea our son had Covid. He had no symptoms until today. So you’re going to be mad about it and not even ask how he is?

If you’ve always known that he’s a very selfish person, I wouldn’t be too surprised that he’s only thinking of himself. It’s super shitty but doesn’t sound like it should be a complete shock

We're starting year 3? With covid now? Something like that. It's been a minute and time is hard to keep track of anymore. Either way. It's pretty much to the point that everyone knows if you're around other people, the chance of exposure is present. Unless you stay completely to yourself, in your house, don't go anywhere, don't have anyone over, do only door drop offs for groceries, and can work from home. Legit unless you're a complete shut in, anytime you're around anyone else the risk of exposure is there. So by choosing to be around you, he assumed responsibility for his own choices and knew it was, at the very least, a chance for being exposed. Obviously everyone hopes they aren't, but it's still a risk you take.
