Am I asking for much?

I met this guy and all was going well, until about a week or so.. we’ve been dating now for 3 months.. we only see each other maybe on weekends, we rarely talk on the phone and text everyday but every like 2/3hrs… I recently started asking for more communication because I feel like it’s getting less.. when I tell him this he says “I understand but I don’t want to rush anything” & that’s where I get confused, I’m not asking for a relationship just asking for better communication, I’m still trying to get to know him. I actually feel like it’s taking longer, personally, to know how I feel because this is the least I’ve talked to someone I was dating.

We briefly talked about this through text because he’s constantly busy but now we’re going to talk in person Friday. I just want to know if I’m asking too much?

All I’m trying to tell him is I want more/ better communication but he constantly hits me with

“I don’t want to rush anything”

Thoughts?
