Which breast pump should I get?

Insurance covers both but idk. I’ve been seeing a lot of spectra online and it’s been recommended but I believe at hospital they let you use the medela while there. Both are super common options

So the medela my hospital has is a medela symphony which is a hospital grade pump and unbelievably comfortable and efficient. But those are not generally the medela’s offered by insurance to get for free. If it is, absolutely get it. Otherwise I think spectra is clearly superior

I’m not going to vote because I haven’t used either yet but I was back and forth between these two as well. Ultimately ended up going with the spectra mostly due to reviews. I think both are good options though. I know it’s hard to decide if you never pumped and even if you have, it’s hard to say unless you’ve used both.

I’m debating the same thing! I had a Medela pump in style Advanced with my first two. And it was amazing!!
I don’t need a quiet pump. I need a pump that works well! Haha 
I’ve heard Medela moms complain spectra pump doesn’t have good enough suction. Just because the suction strength appears stronger on a chart doesn’t mean that’s what you feel. The breastfeeding shop suggests the Medela Freestyle for serious pumpers. That’s my life (full time working mom).

I had Medela with my first two. No issues as long as I had time to pump. I got a spectra with this one due to closed system.

Spectra has slightly more power, a closed system (easier to clean), and is significantly quieter. 
Medela parts used to be easier to get, but now even spectra parts are affordable and accessible. 
You won’t go wrong either way,  but Spectra does have some small perks that are really nice!

Ok, so all of my research and even breastfeeding class this is what I read/heard. Both are great choices! My consultant in the class said however, that the new Medela pump and style has not been the best for women recently. A lot of women apparently have been having issues with the suction. Because of that reason, right now her vote to go with was the Spectra. 
I liked how all of my research showed the Soectra was quieter, which was important to me if I had to pump in the car or at work or something.
